Davidson Fellows Scholarship
Description: Recognizes and awards exceptional students who have completed significant projects in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, literature, music, or philosophy.
Eligibility: Applicants must be 18 or younger as of the application deadline and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Award: Scholarships are awarded in amounts of $50,000, $25,000, and $10,000.
Application Deadline: mid-February
MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge
Description: An internet-based applied mathematics competition for high school juniors and seniors.
Eligibility: Teams of 3-5 students from the same school or homeschool association.
Award: Scholarships totaling $100,000 are awarded to the top teams.
Application Deadline: Registration closes on mid-February and the competition takes place in March.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge
Description: Formerly known as Broadcom MASTERS, this is a national science competition for U.S. middle school students.
Eligibility: Open to U.S. middle school students who have completed a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics project.
Awards: Various awards, including the Samueli Foundation Prize of $25,000 for the top STEM student.
Application Deadline: Typically in June; specific dates vary annually.
$10,000 “No Essay” Scholarship
Description: Offered by Scholarships360, this monthly scholarship is open to all students, including homeschoolers, seeking financial assistance for their education.
How It Works: Students can apply for this scholarship without the need to submit an essay. Winners are selected through a random drawing each month.
Due Date: The deadline is the last day of each month.
Basic Requirements: Open to all high school and college students, including homeschoolers.
Regeneron Science Talent Search
Description: A prestigious science and mathematics competition for high school seniors.
Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Award: Finalists receive scholarships ranging from $25,000 to $250,000.
Application Deadline: early November
Sallie Mae
Description: Sallie Mae offers a monthly scholarship drawing where students can win $2,000 without the need to submit an essay.
How It Works: Students fill out a simple online form to enter the monthly drawing. Winners are selected randomly.
Due Date: The last day of each month.
Basic Requirements: Open to high school juniors and seniors, as well as all college students who are U.S. citizens or legal residents.
Homeschool Funding & Tax Credit Opportunities by State
Homeschool funding options in the United States vary significantly by state, with some offering financial assistance through Education Savings Accounts (ESAs), tax credits, or charter school partnerships. Below is an overview of homeschool funding options for each of the 50 US states.
Alabama Program: CHOOSE Act (Creating Hope and Opportunity for Our Students' Education Act of 2024). Details: Eligible families can receive up to $7,000 for private school tuition or applicable school costs, or up to $2,000 for homeschooling expenses via education savings accounts. Eligibility: Initially targets families with an adjusted gross income below 300% of the federal poverty level, prioritizing students with disabilities, military families, and lower-income families. Arizona Program: Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESA). Details: Provides scholarships of about $7,000 or more for qualifying educational expenses, including private school tuition, online education, tutoring, transportation, and educational therapy. California Program: Charter School Partnerships
Details: Families who enroll their children in a charter school with the intent to homeschool can receive an annual stipend of $2,200–$3,200 per family to support educational expenses.

Florida Program: School Choice Scholarships

Iowa Program: Tuition and Textbook Credit. Details: Iowa offers a tax credit of 25% of the first $2,000 of eligible education expenses per dependent, which can include homeschooling expenses.
