How do you know if your kids have LEARNED ANYTHING from doing a science experiment?
Great news! You don’t even have to know a thing about what they’re doing – all you need is to be truly interested about what they’re doing, excited for their effort, and this set of great questions to ask your kids after they finish a science experiment:
1 Where did you get your idea?
2.What question were you trying to answer? What were you trying to figure out?
3. What did you find? What were your results?
4. What would you do differently next time?
5. If you had more time and resources, what are the next steps to take your experiment/project further?
Bonus question – How are your findings important? (You’re wanting them to consider the bigger picture here – generally scientists are not as good as they could be about communicating the importance of their work and how who it can help and how.)
